How to Clean Baby from Head to Foot Practically

For working mothers, if you know the tips to clean the baby's body properly, then the limited time you have can be effectively utilized.

Here are some practical tips to clean the baby's body from head to toe, complete with estimated time required.

Scalp

Frequency: 1 time a week.
In the first months of the baby's scalp usually still covered by a crust cap (cradle cap) that looks like oily thick scales. When you want to clean it, make sure the night before you have applied baby oil on the surface of the skin affected by the crust, then let stand all night, for easy cleaning the next day.

How to clean:
- Comb your little hair slowly by using a soft brush comb. Lift the crust peel carefully.
- Wash your baby's hair and scalp with warm wate,  using a special baby shampoo. Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a soft towel.

Eye
Frequency: Once a day during morning or afternoon bath.
Duration: 5 minutes.

Baby eyes that are less than 48 hours sometimes look like a white coat covered a bit murky. This is the result of contamination of amniotic fluid or blood after delivery. In addition, there is also caused by a blockage in the tear ducts that tears in his eyes and a medium for the dust that flew to stick and cause the formation of dirt.

How to clean:
- Wash your hands first with an antiseptic soap. Dip a clean round cotton into warm water.
- Apply the cotton slowly at the corners of the baby's eye to remove the dirt.
- Replace cotton every time you finish lifting and cleaning the dirt so that the dirt that has been picked up does not stick anymore when you clean the other corners of the eye.

Ear
Frequency: 1 time a week.
Duration: About 3 minutes.

The inner ear does not need to be cleaned because it already has its own cleaning mechanism naturally. The important thing you keep clean is the earlobe.

How to clean:
- Dampen the cotton round with warm water, then use to clean the front and back of the ear of the child.
- Dampen cotton buds with warm water or baby oil, then clean the inside of the earlobes of the baby and the parts that have indentations. Usually in the indentation there is a lot of dirt.
- After cleaning, dry with a small soft towel.

Nose
Frequency: 1 time a week.
Duration: 10 minutes.

Nose is one of the "tools" for your little one to recognize the environment. If the child's nostrils are clogged with mucus and dirt, then it will be difficult to explore the environment.

How to clean:
- Dip the cotton bud into warm water, then slowly insert into the nostrils of the baby.
- Clean the dirt on the inner wall by rotating the stalk to the right and left, until the dirt lifted. If the dirt stays strong, keep applying wet cotton until the dirt softens.
- Use a special pipette to suck up the mucus when the nostrils are covered by many lenders, for example when he has a cold.

Mouth
Frequency: 2 times a week.
Duration: 10 minutes.

The mouth is one of the "windows" for babies to explore the world. Inside the mouth there are many sensory nerve endings that when received stimulation will trigger brain development. Clean the lips and the area around the baby's mouth each time after breastfeeding (breastfeeding).

How to clean:
- Dip the gauze into warm water that is ripe. Wrap your index finger with the gauze. You can also use a special brush.
- Clean the baby's mouth, starting from the outside, the lips and around the mouth. Afterwards, rinse the gauze clean.
- Then insert the index finger wrapped in a wet clean cloth into the mouth. Wipe gums gently from the top back up to the front of the top. Then proceed with rubbing the lower gums in the same direction.
- Clean his tongue also by rubbing slowly starting from the base of the tongue, towards the front.

The umbilical cord
Frequency: Every 2-3 days.
Duration: 5 minutes.

The umbilical cord is usually released naturally about a week after birth.

How to clean:
Do not expose the cord to the feces or baby urine. Keep the umbilical cord to keep it dry. Simply clean the skin around the umbilical cord using a clean washcloth dyed with warm water.

Nail
Frequency: 2 weeks if the nails are long.
Duration: 7 minutes.

Nails can be "carriers" of germs if they are not kept clean
