5 Natural Treatments to Cure Water Fleas



Foot fungus or so-called water flea, is a fungus that usually attacks the skin that lies between the toes. The infected foot becomes peeled, red, and itchy.

In addition, the affected area becomes dry followed by blister formation.  Water fleas can also affect the nail so makes it fragile and easily broken. The habit of wearing moist socks or feet that are often exposed to water makes skin susceptible to water fleas.

In addition to chemical drugs, water fleas can be treated using a variety of natural remedies that can be found easily.

Here is a natural treatment for water fleas.

1. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is very effective to clean the fungus.

Coconut oil has the ability to inhibit the growth of fungi so ideal is used to cure water fleas.
Lauric acid is an important component of coconut oil that has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.

In addition to being a good anti-fungal agent, coconut oil is also effective to moisturize the skin.

Apply coconut oil to the water-infested area, and allow the active ingredient to fight water fleas.

2. Tea tree oil (tea tree oil)
Another nutritious herb to relieve water fleas is tea tree oil. Apply this herbal oil to the infected area to kill microbes and speed up the healing of water fleas.

Although it may not completely cure water fleas, tea tree oil is effective to enhance the appearance of the skin.


3. Apple vinegar
Fungus in the foot will cause the skin pH to deviate from normal limits. Returning the pH value of the skin is one way to free the skin from water fungus fungus.

Apple vinegar is one of the natural ingredients known to help regulate skin pH.

Make an apple and water vinegar solution with a ratio of one to one. Soak the affected foot water fleas in the solution for at least 20-25 minutes every day.

4. Salt water
One of the simplest ways to cure water fleas is by using a brine solution.

A warm salt solution is known to have anti-fungal properties. Mix 2 teaspoons of salt in a basin of warm water and soak the feet for 10 -15 minutes every day.


5. Tea
Heat about 1.5 liters of water to boiling. Put 6 bags of tea bags in hot water.

Let the water cool down, and then soak infected feet for half an hour each day. 
Tea contains tannic acid that not only destroys fungi but also helps to reduce itching from water fleas.
